Laura Devendorf is an Assistant Professor of Information Science with the ATLAS Institute at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Associate Director

Steven Frost (they/them) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies at CU Boulder and an interdisciplinary fiber artist. Their research focuses on textiles, queer studies, pop culture, and community development in public spaces. They also serve as the Associate Director of the Unstable Design Lab.

Charlotte is a first year Computer Science major at CU Boulder. In the lab she’s been working on creating an interpolation extension for AdaCAD to interpolate between two different woven patterns.

Shriya Malu

Shriya is a sophomore studying Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her interests center around how people engage with and experience physical materials through computational systems, particularly when it comes to using fabrication tools such as CAD and 3D printing.

Eldy Lazaro

PhD Alumni, Creative Technologies and Design

Eldy Lazaro investigates how biodesign principles and practices and inform the design of sustainable interactive textiles. She graduated in 2025 and is currently completing a PostDoc at UC Davis with Katia Vega.
