Open Hardware Bio Fibers Machine at CHI 2024
in collaboration with the Utility Research Lab and Living Matter Labs at the ATLAS Institute, we’re excited to share a project that has been a long time in the making: a DIY machine you can use to make thin filaments (and fibers) from bio-solutions, such as gelatin. Led by Eldy Lazaro, we’re exploring how gelatin based fibers and yarns might open new possibilities for recyclable and reharvestable smart textiles.
